Terms of service

This is the agreement between you and CareerAI Labs, Inc. (“CareerAI”, “we”, “us”) when you use the service at trycareerai.com.

By creating an account or using any part of the service, you agree to these terms. If you don’t, don’t use the service.

Your account

• You must be 16 or older.
• You’re responsible for activity under your account, including keeping your password reasonably secure.
• One person per account. You can’t share logins or transfer your account to someone else without asking us first.

Acceptable use

Don’t use the service to:

• Upload or process resumes that don’t belong to you (the resume’s owner hasn’t given you permission).
• Automate the service in a way that would be indistinguishable from a bot (rapid scripted use, scraping, redistributing our match output).
• Attempt to reverse-engineer our prompts, models, or infrastructure.
• Submit prompts to the coaching chat intended to harm others, extract confidential system prompts, or generate content that violates our underlying model provider’s usage policies.
• Resell or white-label the service without a written agreement.

We can suspend or delete accounts that do any of the above. We’ll try to tell you why when we can.

Your content

You keep all rights to your resume, notes, cover-letter edits, and anything else you create. You grant us a limited license to process, store, and display your content solely to run the service for you.

AI output (match rationales, cover letters, follow-up drafts) is generated for you and is yours to use. Given how generative models work, we can’t promise it’s unique — someone else may receive similar output in response to similar inputs.

If you apply to a job with a cover letter we drafted, you’re responsible for reviewing it. We’re not a party to any application, interview, or offer.

Paid plans

• Pro is billed monthly at the price shown on our pricing page. Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each cycle.
• You can cancel any time from Billing. Your paid access continues until the end of the current cycle.
• We use Square to process payments. Their terms apply to the card transaction itself.
• Refunds are at our discretion. We typically refund only within 7 days of the charge, prorated. If something’s genuinely broken, email us.
• We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice to your account email.

Third-party providers

The service runs on infrastructure operated by Vercel, Supabase, AWS, Square, and others. We’re not responsible for their uptime or decisions, but we’ll tell you when something they own affects you.

Warranty disclaimer

The service is provided “as is.” We don’t warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output is accurate. Double-check anything you send to a hiring manager.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, CareerAI, our employees, contractors, and service providers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost income or offers — arising from your use of the service. Our total liability in any 12-month period is capped at the amount you’ve paid us in that period.

Termination

You can close your account at any time from Settings. We can suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these terms. Your data is deleted as described in our Privacy policy.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms materially, we’ll email you before the change takes effect. Continued use after that means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be heard in a state or federal court located in Delaware, unless you live somewhere that grants you a non-waivable right to a local venue.
